Keep your pets and children safe from these insects with this natural homemade tick and flea repellent. These pests are a constant threat when you own a pet.

The worst part about them is that they are one of the biggest diseases carriers along with mosquitoes.

If you plan to use a product on your pet you need to be really careful with the chemicals that it contains.

You have to keep an eye of anything that could be harmful for the animal.

This is why we have today two entirely natural homemade repellents that will fix the problem for you in a safe way.

Homemade Tick Repellent for Dogs

It is simple to make a repellent for dogs. As you have seen in our previous homemade repellent guides, the most effective way to make a repellent is using a spray bottle.

Mix the following items inside the bottle:

  • 2 cups of white vinegar
  • 2 spoons of vegetable oil.
  • 1 cup of normal water.

The previous ingredients are effective to keep the ticks away. If you also want to get rid of the fleas then add 1 tsp of lemon juice or citrus oil to the mixture.

Spray your pet’s fur two or three times a day. Remember to keep the repellent spray from the nose, eyes, mouth and genitals to protect your dog.

In theory, you can use the previous homemade repellent for yourself as well.

The downside is that the odor is just not favorable to carry around during our day.

You can fix this scent problem by adding 3 tsp of sweet bath oil or eucalyptus oil.

You will find the new scent really calm and soothing. Spray your skin, hair, clothes and any place in your house where you think that ticks or fleas may gather.

Such as carpets or rugs. Use this spray at any time that you are going outside to get the best possible repellent results.
